Eli Rubenstein has been the religious leader of Congregation Habonim of Toronto since 1988. He is currently the Director of Education for
International March of the Living, and Director Emeritus of March of the Living Canada. He has been dedicated to Holocaust education through storytelling, film production, writing stories and articles, sermons, and public speaking. Eli also co-founded the March of Remembrance and Hope. A program for university students from diverse religious, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds that focuses on teaching the history of the Holocaust and other genocides through experiential learning in Germany and Poland.

Forever will I see the children who no longer have the strength to cry. Forever will I see the elderly who no longer have the strength to help them. Forever will I see the mothers and the fathers, the grandfathers and grandmothers, the little schoolchildren…their teachers…the righteous and the pious…. From where do we take the tears to cry over them? Who has the strength to cry for them?
